American Health & Wellness Group Senior Health Coach, Shelly Cherry sits down and interviews the fantastic Josh Walton of our client, Custom Concrete for a client success story.

Josh has lost a total of 105 pounds since February 19th, 2018. He had a high risk score of 4 during our blood draw in February and reduced his total risk score to 1 by our finger stick numbers in July!

What started your journey? Sleep apnea, actually, and high blood pressure. I was not getting any sleep. I felt terrible all the time. Heart disease is also pretty common on my dad’s side. My mom, aunt and sister wanted to start losing weight as well. So I talked to my doctor and knew that this could help the sleep apnea and feeling better. I also wanted to do this with my mom and sister.

Where did you start? I gradually started keto. I did the research and knew I wanted to avoid the Keto Flu. I started taking vitamins daily, cut out soda all together (lost 10 lbs right away) and increased my water. Water is all I drink right now!

Tell me what else you have done to make this journey successful? I eat lots of veggies. I only get a certain amount of carbs a day but over half come from vegetables. I eat lots of chicken, salads, yogurt, smoothies, protein bars, and other things. I do miss pizza! When I get to the point where my confidence is there, I will eventually reintroduce it.

How do you feel overall? I feel great. I am never tired throughout my days anymore. I am overall, happier. I want to become an advocate to others.

Coaches notes: Not all people can do what Josh did. Keto is very challenging! What Josh does have, is the motivation to make a change. He feels great and that right there, is a huge win!
