Being able to be a part of the amazing journeys of so many of our clients is one of the most fulfilling parts of what we do. We are excited to share some of these success stories with you and hope they will inspire you as much as they have us.

For Kevin Emmert, Director of Engineering at Lenex Steel, an accumulation of all the little things have electrified his life and actually added up to very BIG, positive changes.

Kevin has shed 50 pounds since last January… and he eagerly has his sights set on dropping another ten! He also has considerably improved his blood pressure, cholesterol levels and overall body composition.

WOW, right? Three cheers and an extra hip hip hooray! We believe he will absolutely accomplish that goal. Why? Because he has a strong family support system and maintains the eye of the tiger; demonstrating the trifecta of passion, commitment and consistency with his fitness and nutrition.

Health is rightfully promoted as being one of the most important things in life; we all need to make time for it. For Kevin, even though life gets hectic, he remains dedicated to making good exercise and nutrition choices as often as possible. Rain or shine, he consistently walks each day. In fact, he just recently completed the Indy 500 Virtual Challenge! From this challenge he averaged 4.5 miles of walking each day since June 22nd! Kevin also has plans to incorporate strength training with dumbbells and other equipment. He utilizes Noom software to log food daily, monitor his weight and check nutritional information. He is mindful and intentional about staying within his caloric intake each day.

Kevin revels in the moments where his clothes feel looser, and he embraces the moments where he realizes he needs to dial in on his nutrition and pay attention to serving sizes and portion control. He chooses a variety of fruit and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and lower-sodium options as often as possible. Quite notably he has followed much of the advice and encouragement of Health Coach Penny, which enables him to continue on a solid path of success with his transformation.

As his pant sizes drop, Kevin’s confidence soars. Kevin said, “I’ve really enjoyed having the Lenex Wellness Program. So many of the sessions have provided me with the information I needed to help me be more healthy. It has also helped me realize I need to be more healthy and aware of what I’m putting in my body and how I treat my body.”

We couldn’t be more proud! Well, unless we start talking about his family. They are over the moon about his success and are not only assisting him, but joining him on his journey! His wife and son have jumped on board by engaging in more exercise and nutritionally-sound dining choices. His wife has lost 25 pounds and his son has dropped 10 pounds in just a month! AMAZING. This family success story genuinely highlights the power of support, consistency and accountability; they positively feed off of each other (no pun intended)!

So, what is the secret to weight loss and better health? Well, there is no real secret or magic pill. Kevin offers words of wisdom about the power of progress, not perfection, when he gently reminds individuals not to expect immediate results or weight loss every day. He also encourages others to not use food as a reward and instead find other incentives such as new clothing or household items when goals are met. Hands down, Kevin is a prime example that although results may not happen overnight, they will happen. By reading his inspirational story, others might never say “I cant” again! Incredible job, Kevin and family! Keep up the outstanding work!
